Resonant cooper-pair tunneling: quantum noise and measurement characteristics.
We study the quantum charge noise and measurement properties of the double Cooper-pair resonance point in a superconducting single-electron transistor (SSET) coupled to a Josephson charge qubit. Using a density-matrix approach for the coupled system, we obtain a full description of the measurement backaction; for weak coupling, this is used to extract the quantum charge noise. Unlike the case o...
متن کاملac Josephson effect and resonant Cooper pair tunneling emission of a single Cooper pair transistor.
We measure the high-frequency emission of a single Cooper pair transistor (SCPT) in the regime where transport is only due to tunneling of Cooper pairs. This is achieved by coupling on chip the SCPT to a superconductor-insulator-superconductor junction and by measuring the photon assisted tunneling current of quasiparticles across the junction. This technique allows a direct detection of the ac...
متن کاملCooper - Pair Tunneling : Counting Statistics and Frequency - Dependent Current Noise
We discuss the counting statistics and current noise associated with the double Josephson quasiparticle resonance point in a superconducting single electron transistor. The counting statistics are in general phase-dependent, despite the fact that the average current has no dependence on phase. Focusing on parameter regimes where the counting statistics have no phase-dependence, we use a general...
متن کاملEnhanced shot noise in resonant tunneling via interacting localized states.
In a variety of mesoscopic systems shot noise is seen to be suppressed in comparison with its Poisson value. In this work we observe a considerable enhancement of shot noise in the case of resonant tunneling via localized states. We present a model of correlated transport through two localized states which provides both a qualitative and a quantitative description of this effect.
متن کاملSimulation and Measurement of Shot Noise in Resonant Tunneling Structures
We present numerical simulations and measurements of shot noise in resonant tunneling structures. We show that when electron-electron interaction through Coulomb force and Pauli exclusion is properly taken into account, the main features of noise behavior of such devices can be correctly predicted. Electron-electron interaction is shown to be responsible for the suppression of shot noise in the...
